Underwood went to Winchester, got his hors and the thief. The thief is in custody, but is supposed to be insane as he rode to Winchester without a saddle.

- A few items from Sheridan. A few days ago quite a number of friends of Lewis Underwood collected at his house with their baskets filled with luxuries and spread upon his table in his absence a bountiful dinner. The bell was rung as usual and Lewis and his boys came from work, and to their surprise met the parlor full of friends and relatives. His wife presented an office chair and Dr. Davenport a handsome cane purchased for the occasion it being his 43d birth day. After which occurred dining services pleasant reunion and organ playing by Mary cook with singing.
